I am a fully qualified, accredited and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am listed on the BACP register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I fully abide by the BACP code of ethics in my counselling practice, you can find more information about this here.
I have a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative counselling. I have also undertaken several short courses including training in working with relationship issues, trauma and dissociation and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - I am committed to continuing professional development and continue to attend training events and conferences on relevant topics.
I am able to use a variety of approaches within my work, depending on your needs. I have worked with many different people experiencing different life challenges; I treat each person I work with as an individual and my aim is to work together with you to enable you to work through difficulties and move forward with your life.
I have a background in social care and education and prior to training as a counsellor I spent several years working with vulnerable groups including individuals with learning disabilities, autism and young people.
As well as my private practice, I also work as a university counsellor.
